FAQ
PLANNING
-
Planning your trip begins the moment you board our hot air balloon.
First, you will be invited to a meeting where we will discuss and align on your desires and needs, allowing us to craft your perfect journey. The duration of your trip will depend on a variety of factors, such as distance traveled and other key considerations. We’ve planned trips in as little as a week, while others have taken months to finalize. One thing you can be sure of is that we share in your desire to finalize the details as quickly as possible. The more advance notice we have, the faster and easier it is for us to plan a trip and the more likely it is that you’ll get exactly what you want. If you wait until the last minute, it’s inevitably more difficult to secure hotel and flight availability. Last-minute requests require an extra degree of flexibility, and the planning process gets compressed. Some regions, such as Africa and the Galapagos Islands, should be planned far in advance (i.e. 12-18 months prior to departure) due to limited availability at safari camps and on boats. Additionally, advance notice is strongly encouraged if you wish to travel during peak seasons such as the Christmas/Near Years holidays or Easter Break.
-
No.
All of our trips are private and built from scratch, so we do not offer set itineraries or scheduled departures. -
We certainly can.
That’s exactly what our Travel Advisors are here for. They have a breadth of knowledge about a number of places and can help pair you with the perfect travel advisor based on the type of trip you’d like to take, the time of year you’d like to travel, and who you are as a traveler. Et voilà. -
We exclusively plan trips to hotels that meet our high-quality standards. Additionally, we are a part of several international networks, allowing us to provide the very best service and experiences. We have personally visited each and every one of these hotels and only work with five-star establishments.

The price of a package travel is not itemized to show the individual costs of its components (e.g., flights, hotel, transfers). Here’s why:
- Legal Requirements
Under The Package Travel Act (based on the EU Package Travel Directive), travel agencies are required to present a single, total price for the package. This is because:
- Unified Responsibility: The travel agency is responsible for the entire package as one combined service. By presenting a single price, customers don’t need to evaluate or negotiate individual components.
- Clarity and Transparency: A single price makes it easier for consumers to compare different package holidays without being confused by detailed breakdowns.
- Economics of Package Holidays
The price of a package holiday is determined by agreements that the travel agency negotiates with suppliers (e.g., airlines and hotels). This means:
- Contracts and special prices: Travel agencies are often rewarded for buying travel services in bulk, so the individual prices for flights, accommodations, etc., are not disclosed.
- Protection of the travel agency’s Competitive Advantage
- Business Confidentiality: By not itemizing costs, travel agencies protect their supplier agreements. If individual prices were disclosed, competitors could easily replicate the same packages.
- Dynamic Pricing: Package holidays are often dynamically priced, meaning the costs of flights, hotels, and other components fluctuate based on demand and season. It is, therefore, challenging to present fixed individual prices.
- Focus on Total Value for Customers
- Simplicity and Appeal: Many customers prefer purchasing a holiday for a single fixed price without worrying about how the components are priced individually.
- Peace of Mind with One Price: A package holiday is an “all-inclusive” deal, where the customer is assured that all elements are arranged and compatible, making it more attractive than itemized services.
Conclusion
The price of a package holiday is unitemized to protect the travel agency, ensure transparency and simplicity for the customer, and reflect the financial structure of package holidays. Presenting a single price also guarantees that the travel agency takes responsibility for the entire travel experience.

We do work with a small portfolio of villas in specific destinations. That said, we’re not villa specialists and have a wider variety of preferred hotels – many of which offer their own rooms or hotel villas set up as stand-alone abodes. If you’re flexible regarding your accommodation style, we’d be happy to investigate these as part of a wider itinerary including experiences and privately guided excursions; this is where we are most able to add value. We carefully select our partners and always strive towards quality – that is the essence of 80days.
-
We can arrange trips of any length and/or intensity, and will do our best to address any inquiries you may have so feel free to drop us a line with what you’ve got in mind and we can have a conversation.

The Package Travel Act regulates the sale of package holidays, which typically combine at least two travel services (e.g., flights, accommodation, or car rentals) into a single booking or price. It ensures that customers are protected financially and legally when purchasing such travel arrangements.
Key protections for clients:
- Financial Protection in Case of Insolvency:- If 80days, against all odds, goes bankrupt, customers are guaranteed refunds or assistance with repatriation if they are left stranded abroad. This is ensured through mandatory financial guarantees that all travel providers must establish. We do that as a member of ‘Rejsegarantifonden’, member no.: 2270
- Right to Cancel or Transfer:- Travelers have the right to cancel their trip under certain circumstances (e.g., significant changes to the itinerary or price increases) and may receive a refund.- Customers can transfer their package holiday to another person, provided the agency is informed in advance.
- Responsibility for the Entire Package:- 80days is responsible for delivering all components of the package as promised. If something goes wrong (e.g., canceled flights, overbooked hotels), the agency must resolve the issue and provide compensation if necessary.
- Clear Information Before Booking:- 80days must provide detailed and transparent information about the trip before the customer agrees to the purchase. This includes:
- Total price, including fees.
- Itinerary details (e.g., transportation, accommodation, meals).
- Terms and conditions for changes or cancellations.
- Support During the Trip:- If unforeseen issues arise during the trip (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, or medical emergencies), 80days must assist the traveller with solutions or alternative arrangements.
- Compensation for Non-Compliance:- If the services provided are not as described (e.g., lower-quality accommodation), customers can demand compensation or refunds. Why is it a Protection for Clients? The ‘Pakkerejselovgivningen’ – The Package Travel Act shifts much of the risk and responsibility to travel agencies, ensuring that customers:
- Are not left financially vulnerable if something goes wrong.
- Have clear and enforceable rights when the travel experience does not meet expectations.
- Can rely on a single point of contact (the travel agency) to handle all issues related to their trip.
This law fosters trust in the travel industry and ensures travellers feel secure when booking package holidays, knowing they are protected both financially and legally.
-
Before your trip, you’ll receive our exclusive 80days travel kit with all your travel documents, insider tips for your destination, and a few surprise goodies to add some extra excitement to your journey. The name on the passport must match the name on the flight ticket.
Many countries have specific requirements, but most require that the passport be valid for at least six months after the return date. Ensure you have valid passports and any necessary visas.

Go directly to the airline’s baggage services department. Please be sure to provide them with all of the pertinent information, including your flight number, ticket number, and a description of your bag. Do not leave the airport until you have obtained a copy of the written report. Keep in mind that some airlines require this process to be completed within four hours of your arrival.
