On the left bank of the Seine, in the middle of Sain-Germain-des-Prés, a 2–3-minute walk into the small, narrow streets, where the essence of Paris vibrates out of the graceful house walls, and vaulted gates, you’ll find a hidden historical gem of a boutique hotel. Hotel Relais Christine is located smack in the middle of the glorious city, surrounded by cosy cafes, and charming restaurants – and a mere 10-minute walk from the Louvre and Notre Dame.
From the first glance of the hotel, you might think it seems a little “colourful” – but this will fill you with joy as soon as you enter the hotel doors. You will firstly never doubt that you’re situated in Paris, secondly, the style is consistent, and the details have been carefully considered.”

Hotel Relais Christine in Rude de Christine is uniquely placed around a charming modest courtyard, which most of the hotel’s rooms face. The style and ambience are colourful in a decent and entirely French way. Vaulted lofts and soaring wood panels, ancient chimneys, plush and velour, and enormous paintings. Each suite is exclusively decorated, and nothing is minimized – quite the contrary. The location doesn’t get much better – especially if you’re both planning on visiting the classic highlights in Paris – most of them in walking distance – and you are in search of the authentic, local Paris feel.
Paris is the city of love and light – and each trip is like a new infatuation. Long strolls surrounded by the sun alongside the Seine and a peep in the Notre Dame, the countless flowers and a lake with the boats in Jardin du Luxembourg, and Louvre’s endless treasury of art. Shopping in Champ Elysées and then a breif break in the iconic Café de Flore, where you can observe bypassers, with a café au lait in hand. Late afternoons with a Pastis amongst the locals in a minute square, and late nights in a cosy restaurant with red wine galore.
In Relais Christine, you’ll wake up to a delicious breakfast – but lunch and dinner aren’t offered, since fantastic restaurants are quite literally lined up right outside the door. Connecting to the reception is a picturesque lounge, with soft furniture and an honesty bar, so you can pour yourself a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or a great gin and tonic, and simply write a small tick.
Paris is delightful to visit year-round – and Relais Christine is wonderful both in the warm spring, summer, and in the darker and colder seasons. In summer, the suites’ private garden terraces are just the place to relax with an aperitif, before growling stomachs and the French kitchen lures you out into the small avenues. On the shorter days with chillier temperatures, the late afternoons call for games and hygge in the soft sofas in front of the big, crackling chimneys.
