A journey beyond ourselves
Why it’s never been
more important to travel
In 1992, I travelled to a South Africa still scarred by the atrocities of apartheid. The signs of segregation lingered, and a chance encounter with a couple showed me the impacts of police brutality and left me deeply moved. That trip was transformative. It opened my eyes and ignited a lifelong commitment to understanding the world through travel. Since then, I’ve ventured through countless countries, including nations where I’ve experienced nothing but warmth and generosity.
In today’s world, it has never been more important to travel, to experience, and to connect with cultures other than our own. Greeting diversity with openness and curiosity fosters the inclusiveness and understanding that form the foundation for coexistence and peaceful living.
I founded 80days in 2009 with a clear ambition: to disrupt and challenge the conventions of a deeply traditional industry. With 80days, I sought to gather the best people within my field to inspire, guide, and push boundaries through expertise and candid dialogue. I wanted 80days to do more than just plan trips. I wanted us to guide our travelers to dream bigger and fly higher, to go beyond the expected, and to harness what I believe is our most valuable resource – our time.
CAMILLA LEVIN, FOUNDER & VISIONARY

Now, more than ever, we should take the opportunity to explore the world. Walking unpaved roads, tasting flavors we can’t pronounce, and communicating only with gestures and laughter can open our minds in unexpected ways. Travel isn’t just about seeing new places; it’s about gaining perspective, understanding others, and finding common ground. At a time when division feels prevalent, these small moments of connection can help us navigate the complexities of the world with greater empathy and understanding.

“When we stop travelling and close ourselves off, the world stops evolving.”
Lifting others as we rise
At 80days, I believe that success comes with a responsibility to help others. When we are in a position to make a difference, we must do so. For me, philanthropy is about building bridges between people, communities, and organizations, creating meaningful connections that inspire change.
As the founder of 80days, my commitment to giving back shapes our philosophy. Most of our philanthropic projects occur in the continent of Africa, where we focus on initiatives like Uthando, a cause that is very close to my heart and which we have proudly supported for many years. Uthando embodies my values of empowering local communities through compassion, presence, and meaningful action. It represents everything I believe in when it comes to making a difference.

Beyond our work in Africa, we support a few select projects in Denmark. Here, we assist with smaller projects driven by passionate individuals whose efforts we find meaningful and where we believe our contribution can truly make a difference. These are projects where we see an opportunity to help lift and amplify the impacts of their visions.
Time, presence, and responsibility are at the core of my approach to giving back. I deeply respect those dedicated to improving the world and strive to lend my support whenever possible.
For me, giving back isn’t just about providing resources; it’s about fostering understanding, compassion, and a shared purpose to rise together.
